Become a Youth Peer Mentor
Are you an adult with lived disability experience, a college student, or a passionate community leader looking to make an impact?
Through The Independence Project (TIP), mentors guide youth ages 12–24 in building independent living skills, navigating life transitions, and achieving personal goals. Our comprehensive mentor training program prepares you every step of the way!
Mentor Training Topics Included:

Independent Living history, disability culture, and self-advocacy principles.
2. Youth Engagement
Inclusive techniques to connect with youth ages 12–24.
3. Ethics & Boundaries
Professionalism, safety protocols, and privacy confidentiality.

Active listening, empathetic dialog, and supportive guidance.
